Institutes and Research Centres
These Centres are externally funded through major research grants (e.g. Egenis from ESRC and AHRC, Hellenistic Centre from Leverhulme), strategic funding (Medical History from Wellcome) or local partnerships (Cornish Studies with Cornwall County Council). All conduct internationally recognised research and many of them also provide postgraduate programmes and research supervision, allowing students to work closely with staff in these specialist areas. The Centres run their own programmes of seminars, conferences and workshops.
