International postgraduate students
We welcome a large number of students from around the world each year on to our postgraduate programmes. The School has more than 130 International students studying at postgraduate level. They come from all corners of the world including North America, Africa, the Middle East, Australia, New Zealand, Europe and Asia. Many of our staff are also from overseas and contribute to the School's welcoming and cosmopolitan environment.
Academic and pastoral support
We understand that as an International student, you will have particular needs for support and information after you arrive in the UK. To make the transition as easy as possible, our International and Postgraduate Support Officer, Dr Chris Longman, can provide academic and pastoral support.
To help you make the most of your academic programme we offer a series of study skills sessions for our postgraduate students, in conjunction with the University’s Education Enhancement Unit. These sessions are designed to help international students understand what we expect of you here at postgraduate level. The sessions are particularly useful for students who come from countries with different academic cultures and practices but are designed to be interesting and useful wherever you come from.
The University of Exeter’s International Office is a good source of information about studying at the University of Exeter, entry requirements, English language support, the application process, funding, accommodation and other issues. Visit the International Office website for more details.
