My research interests derive mainly from my background in finance, and concern the nature of Europe's financial markets, the behaviour of investors, and the function and relevance of financial information from the early modern period to the present day. I am also particularly interested in the ways that the developing society and culture of the early modern period impacted upon the economic choices made by individuals, and thus have a broad interest in the cultural, social and intellectual history of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.
