Prof MICK ASTON BA DLitt(Hons) FSA MIFAHonorary Visiting Professor of Archaeology Professor Aston's research interests include Post-Roman landscape archaeology, particularly relating to towns and monastic sites. He is Director of the Shapwick Project in Somerset which is analysing landscape and settlement evolution. Mick has more general interests in the archaeology of Bristol, North Somerset and the West of England. Having been committed to extra-mural teaching in archaeology for thirty years, Mick has brought archaeology to the much wider public through his work on Time Team, its club magazine, a number of popular archaeology books and involvement with the Young Archaeologists Club. He believes that public involvement in archaeology is crucial for the discipline. Mick contributes to teaching on our MA in Landscape Archaeology.
